Geography

Zhlobin district is located in the northwest of Gomel region. It borders with Rogachev, Buda-Koshelevo, Rechitsa and Svetlogorsk districts of Gomel region, Bobruisk district of Mogilev region.

The area of ​​the district is 2100 sq. km. including Zhlobin city - 28 sq. km.

There are 16 Councils located in the district: Verkhnyaya Olba, Dobrogoshcha, Kirovo, Korotkovichi, Krasny Bereg, Luksky, Maiskoe, Malevichi, Novye Markovichi, Oktyabr, Paporotnoe, Pirevichi, Solonoe, Starrya Rudnya, Shchedrin, Streshin.

The surface of the district is flat with general slopes from north to south. The district is located mainly on the territory of Gomel Polesie, the northwestern part is within the Central Berezina Plain. Along the Dnieper, the Dnieper Lowland is distinguished. The district stretches from west to east for 65 km, from north to south for 48 km.

The district's territory includes the natural monument Krasnoberezhsky Park and the hydrological reserve "Vydritsa".
